Fairese Prepares to Release a Major Update to Its Beloved Anime-Tracking App Silvianna After Years in Development

After years in development, Fairese is proud to announce that Silvianna 26 — the next major release of its beloved AniList companion app — will launch on October 28, 2025.
Since its debut in 2020, Silvianna has quietly grown into one of the most personal and thoughtfully designed ways to track anime on iOS.
Version 26 marks its biggest step forward yet — a thoughtful evolution that adopts Apple’s new Liquid Glass visual style, refines the core experience, and introduces redesigned widgets, smarter search, and a richer seasonal view.
Silvianna has always been built with list tracking at its core.
Every part of the interface — from the Anime Tab to the Behind and Schedule views — is optimized to make updating, managing, and browsing your AniList collection fast and intuitive.
Silvianna 26 builds on that foundation, keeping tracking as the heart of the experience while polishing every interaction around it.
A Long Time in the Making
Silvianna 26 was originally planned to be Silvianna 3, and development began shortly after the release of iOS 16 in 2022.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints — including Andy writing and publishing his book, Modern Concurrency on Apple Platforms — the update couldn’t be released until now.
To make up for the delay, a tremendous amount of work went into rebuilding much of the app from scratch, rethinking its focus, and refining its identity.
Many features were reimagined or newly conceived, culminating in a release that even adopts Apple’s Liquid Glass idiom introduced in iOS 26.
A lot of care and attention has gone into this version — and we think people are going to love it.
The New App Icons
Before diving into features, let’s start with one of the most visible updates — the new app icon.
As Silvianna 26 prepares to launch on October 28, Fairese is introducing a refreshed icon set that brings the app’s personality in line with Apple’s Liquid Glass design language.
A fun bit of history — the original Silvianna mascot icon was commissioned from @Amy during the early days of COVID. For years, the app used a simple silhouette based on her general shape.

Users could choose between dark and light mode versions of the icon.
When Apple introduced Liquid Glass, it was natural to explore how Silvianna’s identity could evolve alongside it.
Unfortunately, as much as the original silhouette was loved, it didn’t translate cleanly — the embossed glass edges looked too rough, and the layered transparency felt uneven.
After experimenting with simpler chibi-inspired shapes, the team arrived at a version that fits beautifully into the new style.

This softer form interacts beautifully with Liquid Glass, creating depth without losing Silvianna’s charm.
Amy’s original mascot still lives on within the app — it’s up to you to discover where.
Just like before, the new icon comes in multiple color variants and now adapts automatically to your iPhone’s appearance settings — showing the light version in light mode and the dark version in dark mode.

It also looks fantastic in Apple’s Icon Composer styles — from fully transparent to tinted variants that match your chosen accent color.

Experimenting with Liquid Glass and Icon Composer gave the Silvianna team a chance to explore how the app could visually evolve without losing its familiar identity — a fun reminder that even the smallest visual details tell a story.
The Anime Tab
The first screen and main tab is the Anime tab — your home base for everything you’re watching or planning to watch.
It’s been rethought for speed and clarity, so tracking your progress feels effortless.
At the top, four quick-access blocks highlight anime that are airing or about to air this season, making it easier to stay on top of your list without digging through menus.
Below that, you’ll find your complete AniList library — clean, fast, and deeply optimized for list tracking.

The Behind Screen
The Behind screen shows you which anime you’re falling behind on, but only for the current season.
If you’re watching older shows, they won’t appear here — this view focuses purely on what’s airing now.

Users of older versions might remember the quick episode-bump button.
It’s still here, just in a smarter form — a long press on any anime opens a contextual menu with powerful actions.

From there, you can:
- Bump the episode count
- Drop a show you’re not feeling
- Edit its details
- Remove it from your list entirely
If the next episode is the final one, Silvianna will even offer to mark it as Complete, let you rate it, and log your finish date automatically.
The Schedule
The Schedule screen gives you a bird’s-eye view of your season.
It shows a calendar of all your anime and how many air each day.
Days marked in blue indicate series premieres — perfect for planning your week… or cancelling plans.

Just like before, a long press brings up contextual actions.
If an episode has already aired, you can update your progress without leaving the calendar.

Starting Soon
The Starting Soon view displays anime debuting within the next 21 days.
If you plan your seasonal lineup in advance, this section helps you track exactly when each show begins.

Plan to Watch
The Plan to Watch view highlights shows from the current season that you haven’t started yet — a gentle reminder to actually watch what you planned.

You can quickly mark an anime as Watching, and Silvianna will ask whether to set your start date automatically — ideal for those who log their viewing history in detail.

Widgets: Remade and Better Than Ever
Widgets aren’t new to Silvianna — but in version 26, they’ve been completely remade with a refreshed design that complements the Liquid Glass aesthetic introduced in iOS 26.
They’re faster, sharper, and available in more places than ever — including the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Silvianna 26 ships with two main types:
- Episode Trackers — display the next or most recent episode (your choice).
- Airing Today — show all anime airing today, with the option to mark them as watched directly from your Home Screen.

The large Episode Tracker widget even includes a score chart, showing how your ratings evolve over time.

Smaller widget variants are also available if you want to save screen space.

And of course, widgets now look and feel great on the new Lock Screen.

There are even a couple of Lock Screen–exclusive variants waiting for you to discover once Silvianna 26 launches.
Search & Discovery
Search and discovery are essential to any anime app — and Silvianna has offered them since version 1.0 back in 2020.
With Silvianna 26, search has been redesigned to be faster and more complete than ever.

Universal Search
The Search tab now queries AniList’s entire database: Anime, Manga, Characters, and Staff.
Results appear instantly as you type.
You’ll see up to ten results per category, and can tap See All to view the full list.

Seasonal Charts
The Chart section automatically displays the current season (or the upcoming one if it’s less than two weeks away).
Titles are grouped by type, just like on AniList.

Each entry includes all the glanceable details that matter — synopsis, studio, genres, tags, and more.

You can also switch between the current, past two, and next two seasons with just a few taps.

As a major improvement over Silvianna 2, you can browse every seasonal chart since 1964 — a perfect way to explore how anime trends have evolved through the decades.

One Last Thing
If you like what you’ve seen, you can download Silvianna 2.0 today and unlock Silvianna Pro before October 28.
As Silvianna transitions to a subscription model, anyone who buys Pro before launch will be grandfathered into a lifetime plan.
October 27 is the final day to get the lifetime upgrade for $3.99 USD.
Just open the app, go to Settings → Shop, and grab Silvianna Pro from there.
Please note: activating the free trial will not qualify for lifetime access — only paid purchases before launch will.

The Road Ahead
Silvianna 26 is only the beginning.
Before the end of the year, Fairese plans to roll out even more improvements — including advanced search filters, expanded widget customization, and richer integration across your anime lists.
After years of steady evolution, this release feels like both a homecoming and a fresh start — the Silvianna experience, finally realized as it was always meant to be.
